The official launch of "Protecting homes amidst the pandemic" CSR program

Ho Chi Minh City, 14th July 2021 - Masterise Group officially launched the CSR program "Protecting homes amidst the pandemic" to join hands with workers who are severely hit by the Covid-19 situation, accompanying Vietnam to overcome the pandemic.

This is a joint effort between Masterise Group and the Ho Chi Minh City Communist Youth Union to support laborers severely hit by the pandemic. This is the Masterise Group’s third activity within the series of activities to strengthen Vietnam's Covid-19 fight, including contributing to the national pandemic fund and supporting frontline healthcare workers in Ho Chi Minh City.

 

The Covid-19 epidemic has affected the economy in the Southeast region, disrupting production in some industrial zones and leading to unemployment of vulnerable groups such as migrant workers, laborers at quarantined zones, poor, female workers…

"Protecting homes amidst the pandemic" has delivered timely support to relieve rental costs for over 5,000 laborers, promptly helping thousands of families across Ho Chi Minh City settle down to overcome the pandemic. In collaboration with Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Masterise Group has been delivering timely supports related to rental fees and necessity gifts in Thu Duc City, Binh Tan District, District 5, and Hoc Mon. It is expected that all support will be delivered to employees in July 2021.

Mr. Duong Ngoc Tuan, Director of the Center for Social Work and Youth of Ho Chi Minh City shared: "There are many workers who are having difficulty with monthly rent. They are the backbone of the economy, but at the same time, they are also the subjects that are heavily affected by the pandemic. That’s why the Protecting homes amidst the pandemic program is a great idea from Masterise Group in this difficult time, providing long-term support for the fight against the pandemic, fulfilling our commitments with concrete and appropriate actions.”

The first few families to receive support from the program in District 5.

We hope that our contributions will support Vietnam to win the pandemic. Together, we will win.” 

Providing long-term, practical and timely support 

The journey of “Protecting homes amidst the pandemic" has been completed for them, but our efforts to accompany Vietnam continue. Masterise Group is currently planning to maintain providing long-term support for the fight against the pandemic, fulfilling our commitments with concrete and appropriate actions. Firstly, on 21st May 2021, in response to the call of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Masterise Group donated 3 billion VND to the national pandemic fund. According to the Secretary of the Party Central Committee Do Van Chien, this resource has been allocated in a timely manner to support people with difficult circumstances in quarantined areas, and part of it is used to purchase vaccines for people in need.

Then, when the pandemic became more complicated in Ho Chi Minh City, Masterise Group continued to give practical and timely support to the frontline hospitals during this period. On 7th July 2021, Masterise Group has supported the Covid-19 fight in HCMC with 1 portable medical X-ray machine, 20 patient monitors, 36,400 personal protective equipment (PPE) for healthcare personnel, and 10,000 isolation gowns worth VND 6 billion.

Ms. Phan Kieu Thanh Huong, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Ho Chi Minh City said: “We are calling for more supports from everyone to join hands in the fight against Covid-19. We would like to acknowledge and sincerely thank Masterise Group for the practical and timely support towards the frontline hospitals during this period.”

 

The representative of Masterise Group handed over the medical equipment support worth VND 6 billion to the authority. 

With this series of long-term anti-epidemic activities, Masterise Group committed to accompanying the two most affected peoples: frontline medical team to fight the epidemic, and vulnerable workers such as elderly people, street vendors, unemployed workers, or working in quarantined areas, disadvantaged households living in isolated zones, etc.
